Supervision with Shirley
dee
Hi, I'm Shirley, a registered Clinical Counsellor & Supervisor in individual and group supervision with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) & Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). My approach to counselling supervision is based on the RISE UP model which incorporates the most recent research and best practice in the field.

As a Clinical Counselling Supervisor, I bring extensive experience in working with family domestic violence, complex case management, and the intricate intersections of abuse, neglect, attachment, and trauma. My passion lies in supporting both new and emerging clinicians as they build their confidence and skills, as well as experienced practitioners looking to deepen and enhance their practice.

With a strong background in fostering and attachment-focused work, I understand the complexities of working with trauma and the emotional demands of this field. In addition, I work as a sexual harm support officer and have worked with clients who have experienced historical or recent sexual abuse.
Supervision with me is a collaborative, reflective, and supportive space where you can explore challenges, refine your approach, and develop new insights in a way that feels safe and empowering. Whether you need guidance in trauma-informed practice, navigating systemic complexities, or simply a space to process and grow, I provide a warm, approachable, and insightful supervision experience tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to help you feel resourced, confident, and equipped to offer the best possible support to those you work with.

As per the Australian counselling association (ACA) requirements, clinical supervision is not just a tickbox, it’s a valuable opportunity for personal and professional growth. As a private practice owner I understand that the path of private practice can sometimes feel isolating and clinical supervision can provide you with a space where you can share experiences and insights with your peers.
Beyond the counselling room, I can provide support with administrative tasks, whether it’s paperwork, documentation, or any other logistical challenges.
